Call for Papers
The workshop spans a wide range of disciplines: multidimensional signal and data processing, visual computing, optics and visual neuroscience. Researchers from these areas are cordially invited to participate at ELFI 2019. The workshop is a forum for productive discussions and getting feedback about researchers’ ideas and results. The workshop topics include, but are not limited to:
- Visual scene sensing and content creation: multi-modal scene capture and reconstruction techniques, synchronization and calibration of multiple cameras, plenoptic cameras, holographic capture and modelling.
- Computational imaging and compression: multi-view image processing, light field representation and parameterization, 3D mesh, texture, point, and volume-based representations, holographic representations, conversion between different scene representations, light field compression, depth and motion estimation and analysis, efficient computing architectures for light field processing, new technologies and tools for media production, mixing of virtual and real worlds.
- Vision and visualization: virtual camera systems, light field display technologies for representation and recreation of visual scenes, holographic display technologies, full parallax systems, computational displays, integral imaging techniques, quality of experience, multimodal experience, interaction with visual content, visual attention, emotional effects.
- Applications: VR/AR/MR systems, virtual studios, realistic tele-immersion and remote collaboration, light field imaging in virtual heritage and virtual archaeology, immersive and interactive technologies for safety-critical, and medical and biomedical applications, light field image watermarking.
Submission
Prospective presenters are invited to submit single-page extended abstract of their contributions by 29 April 2019 6 May 2019. The submitted manuscripts must be in double-column format, including authors’ names and affiliations. Manuscripts will undergo fast review by the workshop organizers and the authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their works at the workshop and to submit full-length, four-page long manuscripts for peer-review after the event.
Accepted full-length papers will be included in the workshop proceedings to be published in the EURASIP Open Library. Please, note that the abstract acceptance and presenting the work at the workshop do not automatically guarantee paper inclusion in the workshop Proceedings, as the workshop strictly applies the full-length peer-review policy.
The deadline for the submission of full-length manuscripts is Monday, 8 July 2019.
